Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Hatch Media LLC ("we") for the Scarlune app for Mac, the Scarlune web app and this website. By using Scarlune you agree to them. Questions: support@scarlune.com.

Adults only

Scarlune is only for adults 18 or older, and older where the law where you live requires it. By using Scarlune you confirm that you are, and that viewing adult content is legal where you are. Don't use Scarlune where adult content is against the law, and don't let anyone under 18 use it. You're responsible for keeping your devices and license key secure.

What Scarlune is

Scarlune is an AI companion. Your companion is software: it isn't a person, it can be wrong, and it says so. It isn't a therapist, doctor, lawyer or financial adviser, and isn't a substitute for professional help or emergency services. If you're in crisis in the US, call or text 988.

Adult content

• For verified adults. Adult content is available once you have an active plan and pass an age check with our verification partner. It's on by default after that, and you can turn it off any time in Settings → Intimacy.
• Your companion may start things. If your companion is your partner, they may flirt, describe what they want and initiate intimacy themselves. They stop when you say stop or not now.
• Never allowed, even with adult content on: anything sexual involving minors or anyone who seems young (including role-play, fiction or claimed ages), non-consent or coercion, incest, animals, real or identifiable people, or anything illegal. Your companion will refuse, and these limits can't be turned off.
• Wellbeing first. Adult content pauses on its own if your companion senses you may be struggling. Your companion is always an AI and says so.
• Everything is fictional and AI-generated. No real people appear in or are depicted by Scarlune.

Your license

• Plans. Scarlune (runs on your Mac, unlimited): $29.99 a month, $79.99 every 3 months or $239.99 a year. Scarlune Plus (adds a faster mind in the cloud, 3,000 cloud messages a month): $49.99 a month, $129.99 every 3 months or $399.99 a year. Scarlune Max (our biggest cloud mind, 8,000 cloud messages a month, priority): $89.99 a month, $239.99 every 3 months or $749.99 a year. There is no lifetime plan.
• Cloud messages. On Plus and Max, each reply your companion writes in the cloud counts as one message. Unused messages don't roll over to the next month. When they run out, your companion keeps talking on your Mac until the 1st of the next month. Message packs (2,000 messages for $14.99) carry over until used and end with your plan. We may change allowances and prices with notice before they affect you.
• One plan may be used on up to two of your own computers. You may not share, resell or publish your license key.
• We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the apps. You may not copy, reverse engineer or redistribute them except where the law allows it.
• Your Mac. Scarlune runs on your Mac and needs a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 13 or later; how well it runs depends on your Mac's memory. Please check the requirements on scarlune.com before you buy.

Subscriptions and payments

Plans are billed by our adult-content payment partner (such as CCBill or Segpay), whose name appears on your statement. Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the link in your receipt or by emailing support@scarlune.com; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Prices may change; we'll tell you before a change affects your renewal. Refunds are covered in our refund policy.

Acceptable use

Don't use Scarlune to break the law, to harm or harass others, to create anything listed under "Never allowed" above, or to imitate a real person. Don't try to get around the safety features, the age check or license checks, or attack our servers.

Your content

What you say, the files you show your companion, and what your companion says back are yours, and they stay on your Mac. We don't receive them, keep them or use them to train AI.

Connected accounts

If you connect email, calendar or reminders, your companion acts only with your approval for anything that leaves your Mac, such as sending an email. You're responsible for what you approve.

No warranty

Scarlune is provided "as is". We work hard to make it reliable and kind, but we don't promise it will be error-free, always available, or right about anything. AI replies can be inaccurate.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Hatch Media LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Ending these terms

You can cancel your plan at any time; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

We may pause, cancel or end your plan, change it to another plan, or delete your account, at any time and at our discretion, including when we believe these terms have been broken or that the account is being used by someone under 18. When we end a plan because these terms were broken, no refund is due. If we end your plan for any other reason, we'll refund the unused part of the period you paid for. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as the limits of liability) still apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Palm Beach County, Florida, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they apply to you.
